Re-Stringing

The task is best performed by one person on a ladder threading the top pulleys and someone on the ground doing the pulleys in the buckets.  Allow about 10-30 minutes for the job.

Pulleys 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11 and 12 are on the front of the machine.  Pulleys 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 14 are in the bucket.

Instructions for the right side bucket.  It is the one on the right as viewed by the swimmer.  The Power Tower should be restrung starting at the low pulley on the Tower frame.  The remaining 13 pulleys will be threaded as follows.  The pulleys will be called by number with the single, outside top pulley, being number 2.  Bring the rope over the top of pulley 2 from right to left toward pulley 3.  Pulley 3 is the front pulley and the rope passes over 3 in a counter clockwise direction.  Go down through pulley 4 and up over pulley 5 in the same direction.  Go down to pulley 6 and pass under it in a clockwise direction.  Go up to 7 and pass over it, under 8 and over 9 in a counterclockwise direction.  As in 6, you go under pulley 10 in a clockwise direction.  Go up over 11, down to 12 and up over 13 in a counter clockwise direction.  Finally, go under pulley 14 in a clockwise direction, go up to the hole in the top frame, thread the rope through the hole and tie it into a knot.  The Power Tower is now ready to use.
